Pessoalmente prefiro traduzir pelo verbo “acabar“.
Ex: They never wanted to have children but eventually had two.
Nunca quiseram ter filhos, mas acabaram tendo dois.
Para dizer “vaza”, ou “cai fora” em inglês, acho legal dizer: “get lost”
